Autumn feeling

Everytime it's fall again I cange my musical preferences. All summer long I listen to cheerful, happy songs or clubbing hits, but when fall comes I listen to love ballads all day like some freaking emo kid (no offence to emos). So, these days I have 4 songs constantly playing.

Ok, I know One Republic isn't in the love ballads category, I just love that song. And One Republic. And I have a favorite Romanian song too. I'll post the English lyrics in a bit. Done.

My 90's Boy Band Crushes

Every teenage girl has celebrity crushes and I was no exception. Being a 90's kid and an early music lover, I've gone through the whole boy band craze and today I got caught up in nostalgia while I was browsing through some old cds. I wasn't into actors when I was like 13-14 years old, my thing was always for singers. There's something sexy about a hot guy with a sensual voice, ya know? He was older, more quiet, dark and handsome. You know, I bet still waters run deep in his case and he got some skills. If you know what I mean. Just look into his eyes and you'll get what I'm saying. I also liked how he would dress in black most of the time.



So, this are my top 3 crushes. I also loved listening to NSYNC, British bands like Westlife, Take That,Blue, Boyzone or European ones like Caught In The Act or A1 (well A1 is technically British to, I think), but while I loved many of their voices, none of them seemed physically appealing to me.
Well,these were the days before One Direction and co...I miss those days.

If I had to chose between Christina and Brit, I'm definitely a Britney fan, but that doesn't mean I can't like some of Aguilera's songs. Summer is almost here and although it's a rainy week in Romania, I find myself thinking about vacation, sun and my favourite lemonade from a particular bar in my town. This blue-eyed bad boy is in my top 3 sexy songs and I just...I don't know, I don't see it as a love song or anything but I like Chris' voice and the song just makes my heart melt every time. Friday's Song: NKOTB - Remix

New Kids On The Block were the first boyband with a huge success all over the world. I myself didn't event catch them, as I was only 3 years old when they became pop stars, but my cousin, who was 10 years older than I was their biggest fan and he bought German magazines from people who left the country right after the fall of communism in 1990.
Anyways, when I was 10-11 years old, Backstreet Boys were the sh.... for young girls and I was the only one in my class who knew about NKOTB because my cousin gave me all his old audio tapes (I bet most of you don't even know how they look like). He was in his twenties and he was a bit ashamed of gushing over a boyband.
Now that NKOTB have reunited, I've heard two new songs and my favourite one has got to be Remix. Because that's what it is. The boys all have great singing voice, not like today's boybands, using computer programs or having just one boy who sings and the other just have to "stand there and look pretty". And the sound is ok, it's something from 2013. The video looks great. I mean, they're in their forties (or even fifties, I didn't bother to check), they haven't been in the spotlight for 20 years and they look cute as hell. I liked the idea of the suits and the slick image, showing they're not kids anymore, but real men. I for one, applaud them, I like them, and I hope they stick around some more.

Since I noticed I have a couple of non-Romanian readers (that was actually my goal and that's why I'm writing in English), For this week's song I've chosen a Romanian singer, just so people can get a taste of our music. And yes, we do have other songs than the very popular "manele" (which I personally hate).

I wasn't so much into Katy Perry with the I kissed a girl thing, but she won me over after I listened to her album Teenage Dream. I like almost all of the songs on it, I like her look and her deep voice. I couldn't understand the Russel Brandt thing, but it's her personal life so what the heck.
