Fall news from e.l.f.

I must say, I'm a fan of e.l.f. cosmetics because they are so affordable (well, here in Romania not really because they're imported and such), but they also have great quality, in my opinion. One of the things I like are the look books. The design is very cute because they do look like books, but I also like the eyeshadows. I have only two palettes from e.l.f, both from the spring collection and I like the look book better than the 32 piece eyeshadow palette.The eyeshadows have so nice reflexions and they are very versatile.
Now, the Disney Villains Collection is not new for e.l.f, but we never got them here, so pretty please e.l.f. Romania, bring the fall look books. I found a couple of pictures and the description of the products, so here you go:

e.l.f. Spring Collection Eye Manual review

 I always wanted a beauty book from e.l.f because I like the design and I heard the eyeshadows are better then the ones from the usual palettes. I got mine in Classic and there was a Nude one available only with nude shades.

Official description: This all-on-one book includes the must have makeup essentials to create any look that reflects your personal style.The small sleek design is great for on-the-go beauty touch ups.

Packaging: There are 12 eyeshadows, a small eyeliner pencil in black and an applicator in cute cardboard box, with a step-by-step manual included.There's also a mirror and a plastic sheet to protect the cover from getting dirty from the eyeshdows.

Texture: These eyeshadows are less dusty than the ones from the other palette I have from them, also from the Spring Collection. Only a couple of them are matte, so if you're not into shimmery colors this isn't the palette for you.

What it does: I very much like the color selection. There are browns, greys, pinks, purples and gold eyeshadows, the colors I like the most. I swatched 3 of my favourite colors: a golden shade from the left top row, the purple from the right middle row and the black from the right third row.

They have some nice reflexes, but I like all of the colors. I had no fall-out, but I used them only with primer because it's hot like crazy here and I didn't want to risk anything. I wore my eye makeup for about 8-10 hours with a primer and it didn't crease or anything. The eyeshadows are not crazy pigmented, but I like it that way because I don't have a light hand when it comes to makeup and I tend to put too much color, so I like using more subtle eyeshadows.
Price: 11 lei (almost 3 euro), because it was 60% off.
Re-buy or pass: I'm interested in other beauty books and I'll definitely buy some others because I'm happy with the quality,but not at full price because they are expensive here in Romania. I'd buy this only on at least 30% off sale.

e.l.f. Spring Collection Eyeliner Kit review

This kit contains 2 shimmer eyeliner pencils and one eyeliner pen. The eyeliner pencils are in the shades Black Bandit and Twinkle Teal and the eyeliner pen is in black.

Packaging: The only thing that sucks about the pencils is precisely the built-in sharpener because not having a proper cap makes the dry out faster.
Texture: I was very disappointed with the pencils because the black one came with a broken tip so I had to sharpen it and that is when I realized those pencils are very rigid and it's a pain in the ass to sharpen them. The teal one was so dry it I almost couldn't get it to show up on my eyes, but I remembered the old trick with the flame and the tip, so it got better after that. The pen eyeliner is great, it's not dry, how other people got theirs and I don't have to press hard, just a gentle swipe is enough to draw a line.

What it does: Like I said, the texture of the eyeliner pencils is not that great. The black one isn't shimmery at all, but it's smoother than the teal one. The teal one looks nice swatched on the hand, but that's after I pressed pretty hard so you can see the color. That's obviously not something you can do in the eye area. The eyeliner pen I like the most and that's the main reason why I got this kit. It was on 60% off sale, so this kit was actually cheaper than a single eyeliner from their basic line, and that's why I'm not sorry for getting it. Unfortunately, the pen isn't waterproof.Actually, I could remove it from my hand without even rubbing, just with water, so I don't think that's how it's supposed to hold up.

Price: 8.80 lei (almost 2 euro) on sale
Re-buy or pass: I strongly advise you not to buy this at full price and wait for a sale. The shimmer pencils and the eyeliner pen are available individually all the time, so you can get them to try them out. I like the eyeliner pen and I will repurchase it, but the shimmer eyeliner pencils are not worth it and I don't want to try other colors.

e.l.f. Studio 32 piece Eyeshadow Palette review

Packaging: The eyeshadows come in a nice, white,compact case with a small mirror included. The new design allows you to see all the shades from the palette.The only bad thing is my palette at least is a little bit hard to open, so I have to be careful.

 Texture: Eyeshadows are not greatest thing from e.l.f. and these are not the best quality. Most of them are shimmery, an only the bottom row are all matte shades.

What it does: This palette is part of this year's Spring Collection and the great thing is it comes with an eyeshadow brush from the essential line (as far as I can tell) and those are great at their price.

 It's available in two shades, and I chose the Jet Setter palette because I wanted some colorful shades too, as I don't like the plain old nude look all the time. There are some nice brown shades on the first two rows from left to right, next some orange shades, pink shades, blue, green, purple and greys and a black shade, so the color selection is nice because you get a little bit of everything. I won't lie, the pigmentation is not good, the shades from the first top row don't even show up, but if you use a primer, that makes a huge difference. On my arm I swatched some of the more pigmented shades without any primer and they barely show up, but with primer, I can create a nice, subtle make-up.

 I think this palette is great for beginners, because there's not the danger of applying too much eyeshadow, and you get many colors all in one palette. Also, you can buy it if you really want to have it because it's cheap and with a bit of work and skill you can make the eyeshadows work.
Price: I got it on 50% off sale, 17 lei (aprox. 4 euro), but I wouldn't recommend paying more for it, because it's not worth it. Wait for a sale if you want to have it.
Re-buy or pass: As I said, the e.l.f. eyeshadows are not the best buy, but on 50% off sale I would buy other palettes from them just to have many colors to play with.

e.l.f. Prime and Lash kit review

This kit is part of the Spring Collection and it contains 2 eye primers and a mascara. I'll also talk about the extra primer they put in my package.

Eyelid Primers in Sheer and Pearl - Use the eyelid primer prior to makeup application to get longer-lasting and crease-proof eyeshadow. You can wear it alone on your eyelid as a crease-proof eyeshadow to brighten and even skin tone for perked up eyes or dab it on your brow bone as a shimmery highlighter.
Packaging: They all come in tubes. The mascara in a black tube (2.5 ml or 0.08 fl.oz.), the sheer primer in a beige one, and the pearl one in a white one. (4 ml or 0.14 oz.). The extra primer comes in a tube containing 5 ml (0.17 fl.oz.). Of course, they all have applicators.

Texture: The sheer primers are very creamy and in a nude color,and the pearl one is white and it has some glitter in it. The mascara is very dry, i don't know if I got a bad one or that's something in general, because honestly I read only bad reviews for e.l.f. mascaras.
What it does: First of all, all the primers work wonderfully for me. I know some say they prefer Too Faced or Urban Decay, but how can we compare them with such a huge price difference? I wear eyeshadows for about 10 hours a day, because after work I remove my make-up or apply a fresh one if I'm going out, so I don't need them to be more long lasting.
The sheer ones don't change the color of the eyeshadows or the consistency, so you can use them without worries that the colors are modified.
The pearl primer doesn't remain white if you blend it, but it has small glitter particles, so if you wear a matte eyeshadow it will turn into a shimmery one. I think that's great if you have a matte color you really love and you want to wear the same color in shimmer.
I have no use for the mascara because it's dry. I bought the kit fro the primers anyway.
Price: The kit was 11 lei (almost 3 euro), because it was on sale 50% off, and the extra primer from the essentials line was free (normally it's 9 lei, or 2 euro here).
Re-buy or pass: I used only e.l.f. primers in the last couple of years because they are affordable and I'm happy with the result.

Goodies from Nivea and a small e.l.f. haul

Hi, kitties!
My week started really nice yesterday when I got a goodies bag from Nivea Romania that I've won in a contest on Facebook. In the bag there was a hand cream, a body milk and a blue scarf. I think the products are from a new line, so I'll post the reviews this week. I already tried them and the body milk is great!


Next, I received in the mail a package from e.l.f. because I took advantage on the 50% off sale on their Spring Collection. I bought an eyeshadow palette and a kit with two eyeshadow primers and a mascara. They also put an extra primer in the box, I don't know if it was a mistake or a gift from them, but I'm happy anyway because e.l.f. primers really do their job and even my eye pencil stays put (and I have a really smudgy one unfortunately).


So this was my small haul, more details will follow in the next days (or week, or so, after I tested everything).
