REVIEW: Farmec Obsesie Fantasy Deodorant

Official description:
Obsesie Fantasy Deodorant is addressed to women who desire a deodorant that would offer them protection against perspiration and veil them in a charming perfume. Having and extended action duration (48 hours), Obsesie Fantasy Deodorant offers protection against the bad smell of perspiration, and the hair inhibiting complex, Rar- Epil, slows down armpit hair growth, reducing the frequency of depilations. Aluminium chlorohydrate free. Packaging: Green tube containing 75 ml.Texture: This deodorant seems more like a liquid and it's not your typical foamy formula you usually find in spray deodorants. What it does: Farmec is a well known and much loved cosmetics brand so I wanted to try one of their deodorants because I'm tired of my Cien ones. The Cien ones smell nice and they do the job, but the spray ones (I like spray deodorants best) leave a cloud of product behind and sometimes I'm coughing like crazy when I apply them and I imagine that can't be healthy. Also, I was intrigued by the fact that Obsesie (which translates Obsession) is aluminium chlorohydrate free. I don't know about that Rar-Epil complex, but what I can tell you for sure is that this deodorant smells almost as strong as a perfume does, so I don't think it's suited for those who don't want the deodorant to mix with the perfume scent. I personally don't mind because I'm double assured I'll smell nice all day. There are 4 other versions of this deodorant and I'll most definitely try them all.Price: 6 lei (about 1.5 euro) at a local supermarketRe-buy or pass: It's on my shopping list. P.S. Sorry for not using my own photo. Blogger had some issues while posting these and my picture got lost somehow.

Cien cosmetics - a short review

After the reviews for Today cosmetics,I'm gonna write about 3 products from another supermarket brand , Cien. Cien cosmetics are available in Lidl supermarkets. Lidl is my favourite discount store, mostly for the food, the cleaning products and for the body care cosmetics. They are made in Germany and when you're on a budget I find a decent shower gel doesn't have to cost 5 euros.
Cien Shower Gel with orange oil

There are only 3 or 4 different shower gels and 2 or 3 shower creams from the Cien line. I like them because the scent is very pleasant and not that typical chemical scent I get from other cheap shower gels. This one is my favourite because I like orange scent. It lathers quite well, but the only think is you do need to apply a body lotion because it can be a little bit drying. The shower gel retails for 3 lei (not even 1 euro).
Liquid Soap Milk&Silk

I don't know if this is actually Cien liquid soap because there's no brand on the package. Go figure. This is a refill because I don't buy new soaps in dispenser only at a couple of months after they get dirty. Why should I pay extra for a piece of plastic? The soap comes in two scents: green apple and this one. The green apple one didn't really do it for me, but this one smells like clean sheets. I don't know how to explain it better. It's like a regular liquid soap.Again, if you have dry skin or other special needs, then this one doesn't suit you. This was 3 lei (less than 1 euro) for 1 l of product.
Cien Nail Polish Remover

This is acetone free, but it's not scented, so it still strong smelling when I use it. It gets the job done and I like the pumping device because I can get the amount of product I need out of the bottle. The nail polish remover was 5 or 6 lei (1.5 euros), but it's quite a large bottle, so it has lasted me for about half a year (I don't do my nails on regular basis).
Next, I think I'm going to try some generic beauty products from Kaufland. So far, I like Cien more than Today cosmetics.

Summer Splash with Avon Senses

Hi, kitties!
I haven't posted any beauty reviews in a while because during heat waves I don't feel like doing my make-up. At my workplace we have sauna-like temperatures, so it would be useless. My beauty routine consist of 3 essential things anyone should do daily: washing, moisturising and using deodorant.

Because I like to spoil myself and I'm a sucker for nice scents I love the Senses line from Avon. They had their shower gels on sale and I like the fact they have so many different scents. Too bad they discontinue old ones, because they are great. I chose 3 shower gels to have in the shower for the rest of the summer: Passion, Lagoon and Amore. They were 7 lei (1.5 euro) each, so it was a great deal.
Lagoon, the blue one, smells like waterfruits and pear, but the pear is what I get the most. Amore smells sweet, but not intoxicating, like violets, vanilla and musk. I don't like musk, but luckily I don't sense it. Finally, Passion smells like frangipan and tiare flower and it's a really nice, floraly scent.
Since I rarely use perfumes in the summer and I like body mists, I bought an after shower moisture mist, also from the Senses line, called Citrus Burst.

It smells like mandarin and grapefruit and I also feel a little lemon and orange in there, so I love it. I don't use it all over my body, I just spray a little lotion on my cleavage and I rubbed it into the skin and on my neck. So basically I use it like a perfume. The moisture mist was 9 lei (2 euro).
I think if it were up to me, I would buy all the Senses shower gels, that's how much I love them.

Dove Purely Pampering Shea Butter Beauty Bar with Warm Vanilla review

Official description:
Dove Purely Pampering Shea Butter Beauty Bar with ¼ moisturizing cream is infused with a rich blend of shea butter and melts deeply into dry, dull skin leaving it soft and smooth. Let the abundant, creamy lather and scent of warm vanilla envelop your senses and leave you feeling pampered and renewed.
Packaging: Regular soap box.
Texture: Regular white soap with the Dove logo on it.

What it does: When I go shopping for body care products in supermarkets I'm always thorn between Nivea and Dove because I love both brands. So now, when I got a little nostalgic and I wanted to buy a soap because I've been using shower gels and creams only for over a year, I started taking each soap on the shelf to smell it so I could decide. The battle was between this one and a Nivea one (which I'll definitely get next time), and the Dove one won because of the delicious vanilla scent. Now, it is a more creamier soap and I don't have to rub it on my skin until I turn red to make some foam, but I do need body lotion after shower because it's just a soap after all, not some miracle product. My bathroom smells like that fresh, clean Dove scent mixed with sweet vanilla after using it and I can still sense a hint of that on my skin even after a few hours. And I love that.
Price: 3,4 lei (almost 1 euro) from Billa
Re-buy or pass: of course I would repurchase this soap. Or any Dove soap at all because I think they are great.

Nivea Stress Protect Deodorant Stick review

I was just shopping last weak at my local supermarket and they had these on a buy one get 50%  of the second one sale, so I figured it was a great deal because I love Nivea and I need plenty of deodorant in the summer.

Official description:

Under time pressure, in a meeting or on a date - in our daily life we are often facing stressful situations. Stress sweating is one undesired effect, accompanied by unpleasant body odour. NIVEA Stress Protect Stick is scientifically proven to protect also against stress sweating. Its unique antibacterial formula combines two ingredients - Stress Protect actives and a Zinc complex - giving you reliable anti-perspirant protection against sweat and body odour. Extra Protection also against stress sweating, 48h anti-perspirant protection and gentle NIVEA Care and skin tolerance dermatologically proven.
No alcohol or colorants
Packaging: The bottle has 40 ml.
Texture: Normal stick, not creamy and not too hard.Pleasant, discreet scent.
What it does: I don't know about the stress thing because I sweat like a pig all the time in the summer and I don't wait 48 hours for a shower. I can tell I love it because my arms don't get so sweaty and they feel dry for at least 2-3 hours and that's a big thing for me. I used this even after I shaved my underarms and it doesn't sting or irritates. I like the fresh, clean scent because honestly I noticed this summer perfumes make me a little sick so I quit using them, but I do like to have a discreet scent on me. I had no white marks and I wore black t-shirts too. I don't recommend using roll-ons because those tend to leave some marks, I like sprays ans sticks best. Also, there are no white marks on the skin if you wear sleeveless tops. I basically love this deodorant and I'm glad I got two of them. Now one is in my bathroom and one in my purse.
Price: 17 lei for 2 pieces (about 4 euro) at Billa supermarket
Re-buy or pass: I would repurchase this, but I also like other Nivea products too, so I'll probably buy what ever I find on sale.

Today cosmetics - a short review

No, the title isn't a typo, I want to write a few things about some body care products from Today, a German cosmetics brand available exclusively in Penny Market stores. I went shopping last Friday and I bought some consumables, how I like to call shower gel and liquid soap because those are things we use daily and I also picked up a set of two lip balms I absolutely love. For now, a few words about the products.
Today shower gel - I also had shower creams in the past and I found them pretty good being so affordable. This one is with peach, coconut and grapefruit scent. Mostly, it's peach and it smells like peach juice, in a good way. The gel is quite thick and it lathers up pretty well. The price? I think 4 lei (aprox 1 euro) for 300 ml.

Today liquid soap - I picked up the one for sensitive skin and I think it's supposed to smell like water lily flower. It's a clean, fresh scent anyways. The soap appears to be blue in the bottle, but it's actually clear. It's also thick, so you don't have to use a hand full to wash your hands. It was only 3 lei (less than 1 euro) for 500 ml.

Today lip balm - I saved the best for last. Initially, I bought the set because it was only 5 lei (a bit more than 1 euro) for both lip balms and it says on the package they don't contain beeswax. It contains vegetable candelilla wax ( I have no idea what that is, desert flower, maybe?). They were available only in Classic, so they don't smell like anything in particular, but they do have a pleasant scent. The lip balm feels really soft on the lips and I love that feeling, but I admit I do have to reapply it often. It's white and it doesn't have any color at all, or shimmer or anything, so it's just for lip care. Each tube contains 4.8 gr.

I don't know where else Today products are available, but especially if you have to shop on a budget, do give them a try because they are great!

Nivea Irresistibly Soft Body Milk review

Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
Official description:

We love this indulgent formula enriched with Shea Butter because it feels beautifully silky to apply and leaves skin simply irresistible.
Softens and nourishes your skin, contains Shea Butter which provides irresistible skin smoothness. 24 hour moisturisation. For best results apply daily, for noticeably softer skin that feels smooth to the touch.
Skin compatibility dermatologically proven.

For best results apply daily, for noticeably softer skin that feels smooth to the touch.
Packaging: Blue bottle with pump containing 400 ml (I have the jumbo size)
Texture: This is a rather thick body lotion, very smooth and with the usual Nivea scent.
What it does: It says it's for dry skin, but I used it anyway and I loved it. What I like about a good body lotion is that when I apply it in the evening after shower, my skin still feels smooth in the morning. Some body lotions lose the nourishing effect after a couple of hours. I don't know if it's that good for dry skin too, but to me it felt almost like a body butter. It's not greasy and it absorbs fast into the skin, so that's again a big plus if you would like to use it in the morning you don't have to wait too long before putting your clothes on.
Price: I don't know, because I won this lotion at a contest sponsored by Nivea Romania.
Re-buy or pass: I would repurchase this lotion, no doubt about it.

Nivea Smooth Indulgence Hand Cream review

Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
Official description:
This rich hand cream with a blend of macadamia nut oil and vitamin care strengthens the skin's protection barrier and helps repair dry hands for touchably smoother and softer skin. With regular use, the improved improved formula keeps hands intensively moisturized even after washing.
Packaging: Comes in a tube with the traditional blue and white colors and it contains 100 ml.
Texture: A thick, white cream with what I like to call "the usual Nivea scent".
What it does: On the packaging it says it's for dry skin, but I use it anyway because it's not greasy, it absorbs fast into the skin and the thing with the intensive moisture even after washing is true. I washed my hands a couple of times, and my hands were still smooth. I like the fact that it moisturizes skin so well without that sticky feeling I usually get from other nourishing creams. I mean, I apply it right before I go out in the morning so I don't have the time to wait for more than a couple of minutes for the cream to absorb.
Price: I'm not sure because I won this cream in a contest and I haven't seen it yet in my town's stores.
Re-buy or pass: I would definitely repurchase this hand cream because I love it!

My summer favourites from Avon: Foot Works Papaya Sorbet set review

Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
After my favourite Avon body care products for the summer, I'll show you this 3 piece set I fell in love with and one handy tool that helped me get rid of the rough skin on my heels.
Papaya Sorbet Exfoliating Scrub
Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
Official description: Softens rough skin and calluses, leaving feet feeling smooth and conditioned.
Packaging: Tube containing 75 ml.
Texture: The scrub is orange, smells delicious and it's not as rough as you would expect from a feet product.
What it does: I confess, I haven't taken care of my feet all winter long and I had very rough skin on my heels. So rough that my socks were getting stuck on them. Now, this scrub isn't going to fix that kind of problems from the start, but if you consider using this every day, there is a difference. Being so cheap, I don't mind buying this every month, but I don't think I'll find it in the catalogue because I think it's limited edition. I like other Foot Works products too, but the regular ones smell like medicine to me and the others are lavender an other scents I don't like.
Re-buy or pass: I'm so going to order this set this month too if it's available.
Papaya Sorbet Cooling Lotion

Official description:
Leaves feet soft and refreshed
Packaging: Tube containing 75 ml.
Texture: The lotion is not greasy, it's orange too and it also smells delicious.
What it does: Being a lotion meant for summer time, it's not that nourishing, but my feet do feel soft after using it. But I admit the scent got my sold on this entire set.
Re-buy or pass: I will repurchase this.
Papaya Sorbet Cooling Spray
Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
Official description: Deodorizes feet so it's perfect for hot weather or after a workout - a tropical vacation for your soles!
Packaging: Bottle with pump containing 100 ml.
Texture: Liquid
What it does: I like to use this in the morning, before going to work. I also apply a couple of puffs in my shoes too.Alcohol is the first ingredient on the list, so I don't use it at night after the scrub and the lotion because I don't want my feet to get dry.
Re-buy or pass: I will repurchase this.
The entire set was 17 lei (aprox. 4 euro) if any other product was ordered from the catalogue.
And finally, this little blue guy is the main reason my heels got soft in 5 days. This foot pile is from another Avon Foot Works set and I bought this last year. It's very good quality, the razor is still sharp and it didn't get rusty. I used it every night after the scrub and after soaking my feet in hot water to remove dead skin. Don't worry, you can't hurt or cut yourself with it, it's like using a grater. I can't remember how much I paid for it and I don't know if it's still available, but I love this product!

My summer favourites from Avon: Naturals Watermelon set review

Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
I'm somewhat of an Avon junkie, I admit. I like many of their products and I'm a sucker for the Naturals line because they have a delicious fruity scent (some people say it's too chemical), but I love them. They're very cheap, so I can have different scents in my bathroom and when they're available as set, they're even more affordable.
For the beginning of summer I chose this set with shower gel, body lotion and fragrance spritz in watermelon. The set was 23 lei (aprox 6 euro).
Juicy Watermelon Shower Gel
Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire

Official description: Formulated with watermelon extract.Leaves skin feeling refreshed, cleansed and conditioned.
Packaging: Transparent bottle with cap containing 200 ml.
Texture: A transparent red gel.
What it does: It leathers well and I love the scent. I don't recommend this to someone who has very dry skin because it's not very moisturising.
Re-buy or pass: I repurchase Naturals products all the time, so yes.
Watermelon Shakes Body Lotion
Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
Official description: I couldn't find one.
Packaging: Cute plastic bottle with cap containing 200 ml. It reminds of those milk or yogurt bottles.
Texture: The lotion is not thick and it has a rosy color.
What it does: I use it daily, but again, it's for someone who wants to feel refreshed and loves the scent, not for someone who has dry skin and other special need. I like it for summer, but I would use a body butter in the winter.
Re-buy or pass: I would buy it again.
Juicy Watermelon Fragrance Spritz
Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
Official description: Not available
Packaging: Plastic bottle with pump containing 100 ml.
Texture: Well, obviously it's a liquid.
What it does: I can't stand perfume in the summer time because I find them a bit intoxicating, so I mostly use very clean, fresh scents or these little fragranced  spritzs. They feel very refreshing and are good even for carrying around in the purse.
Disclaimer: I wasn't paid for this review, I bought everything with my own money. I'm not an Avon representative and I have no gain from promoting these products.

Scooby-Doo! Liquid Soap review

Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
Official description: Being a no-name brand, I couldn't find one.
Packaging: The soap comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a pump containing 500 ml (17.6 fl.oz.)
Texture: Not being a cream soap, this is not so thick. It has a bright pink (almost fuchsia) color and it smells strongly like bubblegum. It's a bit shimmery too.
Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
What it does: It's gentle on the hands (probably because of the glycerin). I know it's supposed to be for kids, but the scent is delicious. It smells like pink bubblegum and I'm almost tempted to taste it. But I don't, obviously. Other than that, I put it by the sink to use it when we wash our hands and it does a great job. My hubby likes it too.
Price: about 1.5 euro from a local supermarket.
Re-buy or pass: I'm gonna buy 1 or 2 backups the next time I go shopping, because I saw this Scooby-Doo soap since a couple of months but I could never get the pink one because they had only a yellow one which smells like oranges. Nothing against oranges, buy...it's bubblegum!

Yves Rocher Brazilian Coffee Beans Shower Cream review

Official description: Explore the lush gardens of Brazil along the paths lined with coffee trees. Rediscover each morning the powerful , refined fragrance of precious coffee beans and abandon yourself to this bewitching shower cream with its soothing scent.
Packaging: Transparent plastic bottle which contains 200 ml.
Texture: It really is a shower cream, quite rich, with a pale shade of beige color and delicious scent.
What it does: Just after I started this blog I realised almost all the products in my bathroom are YR. I love Jardins du Monde shower gels and creams and this one and the cocoa beans one are my two favorites. I'm pretty lazy, so I don't always have the patience to use body lotion after shower, so I look for bath products that hydrate the skin and leave it soft and moisturised. This shower cream is one of them. I particularly like the scent, it smells like a creamy coffee and I would literally drink it if I could. It make a rich foam, so I don't have to use much product.
Price: about 2 euro.
Re-buy or pass: I keep re-buying it for several years now.

Nivea Double Effect anti-perspirant

Nivea is another brand I love when it comes to skin care (there's make-up too but unfortunately, the products are not available in Romania), so expect to see many reviews on Nivea stuff.

Official description: Couldn't find one, but on the bottle it says "Smooth underarms for longer. Avocado extract."
Packaging: The usual spray bottle with a cap. I like the color scheme.
Texture: I like all Nivea deo-sprays because they're like cream in a bottle. I can use them after I epilation and they don't sting, so I think they would be good for sensitive skin too. This particular one smells like violets (it's called Violet Senses), but the scent is not overpowering and i can use my usual perfume without the two mixing together.
What it does: I don't know about the 48 hours protection because I've never gone for more than one day without taking a shower :). I'm still sweating  even if I use this, and I think it's normal, one shouldn't try to suppress the sweat glands. For me, a good deodorant is one that doesn't make smell bad and that is gentle to the skin. I found this two qualities in the Nivea deodorants and I recommend any one of them. There are deo roll-ons and stick deodorants, but it's my personal choice for going with the sprays.
Price: about 2.50 euro
Re-buy or pass: Definitely a re-buy. Perhaps not the exact same one because, like I already said, I like all the Nivea deodorants.
