Nivea Irresistibly Soft Body Milk review

Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
Official description:

We love this indulgent formula enriched with Shea Butter because it feels beautifully silky to apply and leaves skin simply irresistible.
Softens and nourishes your skin, contains Shea Butter which provides irresistible skin smoothness. 24 hour moisturisation. For best results apply daily, for noticeably softer skin that feels smooth to the touch.
Skin compatibility dermatologically proven.

For best results apply daily, for noticeably softer skin that feels smooth to the touch.
Packaging: Blue bottle with pump containing 400 ml (I have the jumbo size)
Texture: This is a rather thick body lotion, very smooth and with the usual Nivea scent.
What it does: It says it's for dry skin, but I used it anyway and I loved it. What I like about a good body lotion is that when I apply it in the evening after shower, my skin still feels smooth in the morning. Some body lotions lose the nourishing effect after a couple of hours. I don't know if it's that good for dry skin too, but to me it felt almost like a body butter. It's not greasy and it absorbs fast into the skin, so that's again a big plus if you would like to use it in the morning you don't have to wait too long before putting your clothes on.
Price: I don't know, because I won this lotion at a contest sponsored by Nivea Romania.
Re-buy or pass: I would repurchase this lotion, no doubt about it.

Friday's Song: Kristina Maria - Animal (feat JC Chasez)

God, i wish JC would appear in the video, I love him when he was in the band 5ive. He was the "bad boy".

I can see you're talking
But all I can hear is static
Turn the volume up one time
The confidence is lacking
Hiding in the shadows
All you do is hold the walls up
Baby, what's the hold up?
What's with all these walls up?

You can feel the rhythm
But your body's being modest
Trapped in your cocoon
But underneath you are a goddess
Baby, you're the hottest
I'm just being honest
You should be released
Back into the wild

It's time, time to let the predator out
'Cause it's watch your back
You're a killer beast, you're an animal
And it's easy to see you're an animal

Tonight everyone will know what you are
You'll be out of the dark
When you're watching me, you're an animal
And it's easy to see you're an animal

Moving with your instincts
All you hear is but that heartbeat
Taking your position
To the hype that's in the story
Feeding off the spirits and the people are arousing
I can feel you pouncing
Damn the room is bouncing

Read me with the eyes
Ready to play
See me in the eyes
I'll be your prey

No more hesitation
The train has left the station
You should be released
Back into the wild

It's time, time to let the predator out
'Cause it's watch your back
You're a killer beast, you're an animal
And it's easy to see you're an animal

Tonight everyone will know what you are
You'll be out in the dark
When you're watching me, you're an animal
And it's easy to see you're an animal

So turn it up

I bring out the animal in you
You bring out the animal in me [x4]

It's time, time to let the predator out
'Cause it's watch your back
You're a killer beast, you're an animal
And it's easy to see you're an animal

Tonight everyone will know what you are
You'll be out in the dark
When you're watching me, you're an animal
And it's easy to see
You'll be out of the dark
When you're watching me, you're an animal
And it's easy to see you're an animal

Look of the day: Jennifer Lopez

Usually, La Lopez is not what I would call a fashion icon because she's either great dressed, or she has some terrible clothes on. Here, I like her casual style with the white jacket (something I saw often this spring), the wavy hair and...those Laboutins. My god, I would totally want something like that in my closet. They're pink AND have some golden studs on them, exactly the two things I love the most.

e.l.f. Prime and Lash kit review

This kit is part of the Spring Collection and it contains 2 eye primers and a mascara. I'll also talk about the extra primer they put in my package.

Official description:
Lengthening&Defining Mascara in Black - The unique formula is clump free and quick drying so you can have color that stays on all day without smudging or flaking.
Eyelid Primers in Sheer and Pearl - Use the eyelid primer prior to makeup application to get longer-lasting and crease-proof eyeshadow. You can wear it alone on your eyelid as a crease-proof eyeshadow to brighten and even skin tone for perked up eyes or dab it on your brow bone as a shimmery highlighter.
Packaging: They all come in tubes. The mascara in a black tube (2.5 ml or 0.08 fl.oz.), the sheer primer in a beige one, and the pearl one in a white one. (4 ml or 0.14 oz.). The extra primer comes in a tube containing 5 ml (0.17 fl.oz.). Of course, they all have applicators.
Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
Texture: The sheer primers are very creamy and in a nude color, and the pearl one is white and it has some glitter in it. The mascara is very dry, i don't know if I got a bad one or that's something in general, because honestly I read only bad reviews for e.l.f. mascaras.
What it does: First of all, all the primers work wonderfully for me. I know some say they prefer Too Faced or Urban Decay, but how can we compare them with such a huge price difference? I wear eyeshadows for about 10 hours a day, because after work I remove my make-up or apply a fresh one if I'm going out, so I don't need them to be more long lasting.
The sheer ones don't change the color of the eyeshadows or the consistency, so you can use them without worries that the colors are modified.
The pearl primer doesn't remain white if you blend it, but it has small glitter particles, so if you wear a matte eyeshadow it will turn into a shimmery one. I think that's great if you have a matte color you really love and you want to wear the same color in shimmer.
I have no use for the mascara because it's dry. I bought the kit fro the primers anyway.
Price: The kit was 11 lei (almost 3 euro), because it was on sale 50% off, and the extra primer from the essentials line was free (normally it's 9 lei, or 2 euro here).
Re-buy or pass: I used only e.l.f. primers in the last couple of years because they are affordable and I'm happy with the result.

Thursday readings: I Heart... series by Lindsey Kelk

I love these books almost as much as I love my Shopaholic series and it's a bit sad no publisher translated them into Romanian, but I've read them in English and I fell in love with the atmosphere created by the author. I so want to see New York one day after I read the first book, and then Paris, and London....ah, dreams.
The story begins with Angela Clark, someone you would call a "Plain Jane" , who's fleeing the worst wedding of her life after she finds out her boyfriend cheated on her. Without a plan in her head, she ends up in New York at a nice hotel. She befriends Jennifer, who works there, and with her help, she looks for a job and she meets TWO nice guys. Will NY be for Angela everything she hoped for and will she find true love?
About the next 4 books I won't say anything, so I won't give too much away, but here are some quotes.
P.S. Why are British authors so good at chick-lit?

“People go to LA to "find themselves", they come to New York to become someone new.”

“I might not be able to hold my drink or my man, but what I can hold, is a tune. Point me in the right direction and give me a bloody mic.”

“I love you because you always have a T-shirt under your pillow for me, even if you don't know I'm coming to stay. I love you because you know I want sugar in my tea in the morning but not at night and because you always pretend you forgot I wanted a skinny hot chocolate in Starbucks because you know I really prefer full fat but don't like to order it in case the girl behind the counter thinks I'm fat.'

“but Alex's last girlfriend? now there was a female human being who had worked hard to deserve her given moniker. As far as i was concerned, she was going to that special circle of hell reserved for Hitler, Jusin Bieber and the man who invented high-waisted jeans.”

Nivea Smooth Indulgence Hand Cream review

Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
Official description:
This rich hand cream with a blend of macadamia nut oil and vitamin care strengthens the skin's protection barrier and helps repair dry hands for touchably smoother and softer skin. With regular use, the improved improved formula keeps hands intensively moisturized even after washing.
Packaging: Comes in a tube with the traditional blue and white colors and it contains 100 ml.
Texture: A thick, white cream with what I like to call "the usual Nivea scent".
What it does: On the packaging it says it's for dry skin, but I use it anyway because it's not greasy, it absorbs fast into the skin and the thing with the intensive moisture even after washing is true. I washed my hands a couple of times, and my hands were still smooth. I like the fact that it moisturizes skin so well without that sticky feeling I usually get from other nourishing creams. I mean, I apply it right before I go out in the morning so I don't have the time to wait for more than a couple of minutes for the cream to absorb.
Price: I'm not sure because I won this cream in a contest and I haven't seen it yet in my town's stores.
Re-buy or pass: I would definitely repurchase this hand cream because I love it!

Get 3 free make-up brushes from e.l.f. (Romania only)

Goodies from Nivea and a small e.l.f. haul

Hi, kitties!
My week started really nice yesterday when I got a goodies bag from Nivea Romania that I've won in a contest on Facebook. In the bag there was a hand cream, a body milk and a blue scarf. I think the products are from a new line, so I'll post the reviews this week. I already tried them and the body milk is great!

Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
Next, I received in the mail a package from e.l.f. because I took advantage on the 50% off sale on their Spring Collection. I bought an eyeshadow palette and a kit with two eyeshadow primers and a mascara. They also put an extra primer in the box, I don't know if it was a mistake or a gift from them, but I'm happy anyway because e.l.f. primers really do their job and even my eye pencil stays put (and I have a really smudgy one unfortunately).

Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
So this was my small haul, more details will follow in the next days (or week, or so, after I tested everything).
Kisses for my kitties! Byeeeeee

On Kitty's watchlist: Lipstick Jungle

I'll be the first to admit that Candace Bushnell's novels seem to be basically the same thing repeated over and over again and that Michael Patrick King is her partner in crime when it comes to tv shows. Nevertheless, I actually enjoyed this show and I was sad it got cancelled after only 2 seasons. The show revolves around 3 women who are trying to find the perfect balance between career and a good relationship.
This is more of a drama than anything else and it's not that funny  like Sex And The City, but I liked the main characters, the male ones not so much though. There is one who I guess is supposed to be similar to Mr Big, but Andrew McCarthy just can't pull of the dark and mysterious businessman like Chris Noth does.Of course, fashion plays again a big part, and Victory, one of the characters is actually a fashion designer so there are many eyecandies here and there.
Being such a short show, I think you could give it a try (if you haven't already), especially if you liked Sex And The City.

GG's Saturday Movie: The Proposal

Two of my favourite actors, Sandra Bullock (because she's very funny) and Ryan Reynolds (because he's damn hot) are starring in this romantic comedy.
Margaret, an annoying editor is facing deportation because her visa expired. She can't just drop her career in New York, so she forces her assistant, Andrew yo agree to a fake marriage. Andrew, on the other hand, is constantly bothered by his family to find a wife,so when his grandmother's 90th birthday comes up, he and Margaret go to Alaska for a "family weekend". So you can imagine all the complications and the funny situations are a given.
Don't know how it's like where you live, but here it's raining, so me and my cat are going to enjoy this cute movie this afternoon.

Weekend online sales: e.l.f and Beauty UK (Romania only)

Friday's Song: Alexandra Stan - Lemonade

Summer is almost here and although it's a rainy week in Romania, I find myself thinking about vacation, sun and my favourite lemonade from a particular bar in my town. It's so much better than what I tried to do at home, so I prefer going there from time to time and sipping on a really good lemonade made from real lemons.
Today's song is one I liked very much last summer and I also like Alexandra's styling in this video.

Everything is so good in the summer air
Just put behind you all the problems that we shared
Look into the sun, you'll see me and you
'Cause now you have the perfect view

I was so wrong
And now I really wanna make you come along
I just want you to see
You're the only one for me

Sunny, happy rhythm music, no money
I'm takin' you on holiday
Sipping yellow lemonade

Kept my promise and we're lying on the beach
Now we have each other and I feel so rich
Look into the sun, you'll see me and you
'Cause now you have the perfect view

I was so wrong
And now I really wanna make you come along
I just want you to see
You're the only one for me

Sunny, happy rhythm music, no money
I'm takin' you on holiday
Sipping yellow lemonade

I was so wrong
So sunny
You're the only one for me
I was so wrong
And now I really wanna...come along...sunny
You're the only one for me

Sunny, happy rhythm music, no money
I'm takin' you on holiday
Sipping yellow lemonade

Final chorus:
Sunny
No money
Holiday
Sipping yellow lemonade
Sunny
No money
Holiday
Sipping yellow lemonade

Thursday readings: I Don't Know How She Does It by Allison Pearson

Well, once again I'm a day late with my weekly posts, but that's because I'm so lazy sometimes and I don't like to write if I don't feel like it.
I myself  I'm not a mom and don't intend to be one too soon, but I very much liked the main character of this chick-lit book, Kate Reddy. She's a fund manager who's married and has two small children and she struggles to find the perfect balance between career and motherhood. She makes more money than her husband, so they depend on her income, but she also loves her job, as tough as it gets sometimes. She has a nanny who is supposed to help her, but to get her to do some house chores she has to buy her expensive gifts and pay her a lot of bonuses (which I understand, because I wouldn't like to be hired for a jib and then end up doing 10 more other things).
The relationship with her husband is not that that great because she doesn't have time for him and she can't even manage to have lunch with her friend because, you guessed it, she doesn't have time.
Everything is about to change when she meets an American client who seems to be her getaway from all the chaos in her live, so you there are going to be some complications. There's also the movie with Sarah Jessica Parker, but there's something that I didn't like about it and I can't put my finger on what it was.
Anyways, here's another book from my chick-lit collection I recommend this week so enjoy!

My summer favourites from Avon : skin care routine

Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
You might be surprised that my current skin care routine is based on only two products, but that's because I'm not a fan of toners. I used a few and I feel like these lotions don't do anything special to my skin, so all I use is a cleanser and a face cream. My two favourite products at the moment are the following:
Naturals Herbal Dog Rose&Aloe Cleanser
Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
Official description: Suitable for combination/oily skin. Eliminates sebum, impurities and make-up without drying out the skin.
Packaging: Bottle without pump containing 100 ml.
Texture: It's a clear cleansing gel. It smells like plants to me, like something you put in a tea.
What it does: The Naturals Herbal line just launched here and I needed a cleanser. As much as I would like to use anti-aging skin care because I'm already 26 years old, my acne prone skin needs products that help me control the shininess of my face. I like what this cleanser does, in combination with my current face cream, I'm just not a fan of the smell. I didn't choose something from the Solution line because I personally don't have good experiences with them.
Price: 9 lei (about 2 euro)
Re-buy or pass: I won't repurchase this cleanser, but only because it smells like plants.

Avon Care Light Moisture Refreshing Face Gel-Cream with Cucumber and Green Tea
Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
 Official description: Not available.
Packaging: Plastic container with 100 ml of product.
Texture: It's a green gel, smells very pleasant.
Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire
What it does: I fell in love with this face gel because my face is finally matte. In the summer (and here it's really hot already) my combination skin gets weird. My nose and that portion between my eyebrows gets really dry, but my cheeks and my forehead are shiny all the time. This gel really is refreshing and it moisturises my skin without leaving it shiny. I think it's a great product, especially since it comes from the Avon Care line (one of the cheapest from them).
Price: 8-9 lei (aprox 2 euro)
Re-buy or pass: I'm going to buy a couple more, because I plan on using this gel the entire summer.

New NYX products available!

I so want at least one make-up pallette. At least the 5 eyeshadows one! All products are available on makeup-shop.ro

GG's Saturday Movie: Julie and Julia

I know I'm a day late, but i watched the movie last night and it was too late to write something because I fell asleep right away.
If you love Meryl Streep (and who doesn't) and Stanley Tucci ( I for one love love him) than I strongly recommend you this movie. It's based on the life of well known cookbook author Julia Child. Also, in 2002, Julie Powell, a fan of Child's cooking starts a blog for a 365 days challenge: she wants to cook everything from Julia's Cookbook.
I love movies that revolve around food, so this was a treat for me. All those french cuisine plates were delicious. Because, if you didn't know, Julia Child was the first American author who tried to adapt french cuisine so that it can be cooked by any American housewife. I didn't know about Julia Child because her cookbook isn't available in Romania, and I'm a disaster in the kitchen, but I very much enjoyed this movie and that's why it's my Saturday recommendation for you.
